Title your story and draw a picture to illustrate it. Afterward, review your story and make sure all your sentences are complete sentences: Subjects, verbs and complemets. Finally, copy your own story in the Englishblog and give de paper to your teacher.

As it's Valentine's Day on Saturday, try this sample activity from the its-english web site with your students. All they have to do is answer a series of questions in order to create a short story in which they go on a date with the boy or girl of their dreams. They can then print their stories to display in the classroom.

The 30th of January we celebrate the international day of peace. This day is the day when Ghandi died. It's very important day in the world, and it's a very beautiful day in our school, we sing songs and dance in the playground. In this day everybody try to be nice with other people. The symbol of the day it's the "dove of peace". In our school we decorate the walls with big pictures with messages of peace. The big pictures are normally made by the youngest students. When we go out to the playground, we put the pictures on the sports centre windows and everybody see them.
This year we have made another activity: at eleven o'clock we have gone to the preschool classes to help the children to inflate balloons, and we put into them messages of peace, later on we all meet at the playground, teachers, students and parents carry a balloon each, everybody sits on the balloon and brakes it, then people read the messages and everybody sing a song all together.

In English speaking countries, children don’t get their presents on Christmas Eve (24 December). Santa comes at night when everyone is asleep. Santa’s reindeer can fly and take him from house to house. They land on the roofs of the houses and then Santa climbs down the chimney to leave the presents under the Christmas tree.
In the morning of Christmas Day (25 December), children usually get up very early to unwrap their presents. Then they have plenty of time to play with their new toys.
Christmas dinner is served in the early afternoon. Most people eat turkey and sprouts and a Christmas pudding.
26 December is called Boxing Day. It hasn’t always been a holiday. People used to go back to work on that day where their bosses gave them little Christmas presents in small boxes. That’s why the day is called Boxing Day.
